Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: Clean the shrimp, remove the shells and veins if necessary, and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, lemon juice, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed and set aside.
- Heat the butter and oil: Place a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the cooking oil and butter, allowing the butter to melt.
- Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook briefly until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
- Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp in a single layer if possible. Cook for approximately 2 minutes on each side, until they turn pink, opaque, and are cooked through.
- Add the honey garlic sauce: Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and gently stir to coat the shrimp evenly.
- Let the sauce thicken: Cook for another 1–2 minutes, stirring gently, until the sauce becomes glossy and coats the shrimp beautifully.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the shrimp. Serve immediately while warm.
Tips for the Best Honey Garlic Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry
Removing excess moisture helps the shrimp cook properly and prevents too much liquid from collecting in the pan.
Do not overcook the shrimp
Shrimp cook quickly and can become rubbery if left in the pan for too long. Remove them from the heat as soon as they are opaque and cooked through.
